Colorful Table Setting

I had a long day yesterday, finishing up a photo shoot of a  project at about 6:30 p.m.  I was exhausted and it was such a pleasure to go to dinner at my friend Terri's house after all that.  She and her husband love to entertain and they do so often with lots of flair. 

Terri loves color and has some wonderful collections of  pottery and glass.  Her table settings are always beautiful.  I love those big salad bowls.  Here was the salad with gorgeous roasted vegetables that we had in these bowls.

She has lived overseas, traveled a lot, and loves to bring back things for her table and kitchen when she travels.  The Greek tablecloth was one of those finds.

She's not afraid to mix patterns and colors.  It creates such a festive vibe.

Just when I think I have a lot of dishes, I come to Terri's and see something new and beautiful and want to add more to my stash!

I only brought some of the melons I used at my photo shoot that day.  I was such a bad guest!  No time or energy to bring a dish to share. I owe them several nice dinners.  I'm going to have to work hard to come close to this!

Sneak Peek

One of my job site visits was a real thrill for me today.  It's been a little over a week since I was there and the finishing touches are all going in to the modern bathroom.  I'm just going to give you a little tease because I think it deserves to be published somewhere bigger than my little blog.

Great Decorating Ideas

I see so many great ideas out on the blogs, I've decided to share a few of my faves today.  This might even turn into a series!

Up today are two great ideas for kitchens.  Both of these ladies use my favorite glass canisters for storage out on their counters....these are in almost all of my kitchen photo shoots.  Of course, I've seen these in Ina Garten's and Martha Stewart's kitchens, but I love how simple and generic they are.  So adaptable to any style!

What I haven't seen before are these beautiful tea cups used as scoops.  I've used wooden scoops and stainless ones, but never these cups.  I thought this was a great idea from Stone Gable blog.

Banquettes & Window Seats

There's something so cozy and comfortable about a banquette or window seat.  Almost everyone prefers sitting in the banquette at a restaurant, don't they?  They're such an interesting feature and a great way to get more seating in a space.  Just downright pretty too!

  I found this fabric below recently down at the Kravet showroom in the Dec. Center.  Wouldn't it make a great shade in a study or boy's room like the room above?
